Cost-Effective Pallet Storage for High-SKU Manufacturing Operations in Jakarta

A manufacturing company in Jakarta required a storage solution capable of handling a large variety of SKUs while maintaining direct access to every pallet location. The customer also wanted to maximise the value of its existing warehouse equipment, avoiding unnecessary investment in new material handling systems.

To address these requirements, a Selective Pallet Racking installation providing approximately 1,000 pallet positions was implemented. The project was delivered by Intramega Global,Constructor's authorised dealer in Indonesia, combining local expertise with proven pallet storage solutions.

The Challenge

The customer's warehouse handled a large number of SKUs, making direct pallet accessibility a key operational requirement. Warehouse operators needed to retrieve specific pallets quickly and efficiently without moving other loads first. At the same time, the customer wanted to continue using its existing reach trucks rather than investing in additional material handling equipment.

The challenge was therefore to deliver a cost-effective storage solution that balanced accessibility, operational efficiency and storage capacity while working within the existing warehouse environment.

The Solution

Working closely with the customer, Intramega Global and Constructor

implemented a Selective Pallet Racking solution designed specifically for high-SKU operations.

The 6-metre-high installation provides approximately 1,000 pallet positions and accommodates pallets measuring 1,200 × 1,100 × 1,700 mm with loads of up to 1,000 kg per pallet. The configuration ensures direct access to every pallet position while making full use of the customer's existing reach trucks.

To enhance long-term durability and operational safety, the solution also incorporates:

  • A reinforced frame protector design with dual supports
  • Extended impact protection for rack uprights
  • Pre-galvanised frames for improved corrosion resistance
  • Durable rack components designed for long-term warehouse operation

The result is a practical and efficient storage solution tailored to the customer's operational requirements.
