Maximising Cold Storage Capacity with Double Deep Racking in Cebu, Philippines

Efficient Cold Storage Warehousing in Cebu, Philippines

A cold storage logistics provider in Cebu required a high-capacity storage solution capable of maximising available warehouse space while maintaining efficient pallet handling and reliable operations. To support the customer's growing requirements, a Double Deep Racking solution was implemented, delivering 5,616 pallet positions and making effective use of both horizontal and vertical warehouse space.

The project was delivered by Prime Sales Incorporated, Constructor's authorised partner in the Philippines.

Country: Philippines
Industry: Cold Storage Operator / Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
System: Double Deep Racking
Special Features: Double Reach Lift Truck, Pallet Truck Rider, Column Guards, Safety Barriers
Specifications: 10.7 m high | 5,616 pallet positions | 1,000 kg per pallet

The Challenge

The customer needed a storage solution capable of accommodating increasing inventory volumes within a limited warehouse footprint. Conventional selective pallet racking would not provide the required storage capacity, while maintaining efficient pallet handling remained a key operational requirement.

The objective was to achieve a high storage capacity while supporting fast pallet movement, safe operations and reliable access to storage locations at heights of up to 10.7 metres.

The Solution

Working closely with the customer, Prime Sales Incorporated and Constructor implemented a Double Deep Racking system designed to significantly increase storage density while optimising the warehouse footprint. By storing pallets two positions deep, the solution delivers substantially greater storage capacity than conventional selective pallet racking.

The installation reaches a height of 10.7 metres and provides 5,616 pallet positions, each designed for loads of up to 1,000 kg. This configuration enables the operation to make full use of available warehouse volume while supporting the demands of cold storage logistics.

To ensure efficient handling and safe operation, the system incorporates:

  • Pallet Truck Riders for efficient pallet movement, staging and replenishment
  • Double Reach Lift Trucks for safe access to double-deep pallet locations
  • Column Guards and safety barriers to protect the installation from accidental impact
  • Pallet support elements designed to facilitate safe storage and retrieval operations

The result is an integrated storage solution that balances storage density, operational efficiency and warehouse safety.

The Solution

The Result

Increased Storage Density

5,616 pallet positions achieved within the available warehouse footprint.

Optimised Warehouse Space

Vertical storage height of 10.7 metres maximises the use of available building volume.

Improved Operational Efficiency

Specialised handling equipment supports efficient pallet movement and faster warehouse operations.

Cost-Effective Cold Storage

Higher storage density helps reduce the cost per pallet position while supporting effective cold air circulation.

Enhanced Safety

Integrated protection features contribute to safer warehouse operations and long-term system durability.

The Result
Delivered by Prime Sales Incorporated, this installation gives the customer a high-density, efficient, and safe storage solution that maximises cold storage capacity and supports long-term operational growth.
