The MOVO solution enabled Optibelt to save space in its warehouse, while reducing costs and ensuring there was no need to purchase additional equipment for the facility.
The frozen food storage compartment uses Constructor Mobile Pallet Racking 14 meters high and providing space for 3,000 pallet places.
It’s a high building and the Mobile Pallet Racking (MOVO) system installed makes use of the vertical and horizontal space. The MOVO system reached almost to the ceiling and delivers a total of 12,500 pallet places.
In consultation with the architectural firm, Constructor has created a very efficient design for the layout of the warehouse.
The work was carried out in three phases, with very little disruption to the day-to-day storage and picking of goods. Once having been commissioned, the installation doubled Garden Trade’s storage capacity within the same warehouse.
The Constructor team started by working out the best way to store each of the 40,000 items that C&G stock. As these can range in size from small parts to palletised loads and complete plumbing systems, the answer was to provide multiple solutions which worked together as one seamless solution.
